This artwork is a unique piece.
A new one can be ordered, with different dimensions and color shades.
Two peacocks, two completely different souls. One is deep blue, full of night and depth, and the other is white, soft and full of light. They are not the same, and they do not need to be. In this painting they turn toward each other, their heads almost touching, and between their curved necks a heart quietly appears.
I painted the background with a rough, warm texture in beige, bronze and smoky grey, so the two birds seem to stand in a quiet, almost sacred space. From the top corner a ray of golden light falls toward them, like a blessing on their meeting. The feathers are built up in thick layers, with touches of gold on the wings and chest, and at the bottom the two trains flow together. The blue slowly melts into the white until you cannot say where one ends and the other begins. Even the eyes of the feathers took the shape of small hearts.
For me this piece is about love and partnership, about two people who keep their own colors and still become one. It is a painting for a home that two people share, and a gentle reminder that the most beautiful things happen when we choose each other every day.
