When I painted White Majesty, I wanted to show a kind of majesty that does not need to be loud. We usually imagine the peacock full of bright blue and green, proud and spreading its colors for everyone to see. The white peacock is rare, and it carries its beauty in a quieter way. It stands tall, calm and sure of itself, and that silent strength is what I wanted to capture.
I painted it with acrylic in a combined technique. The background is soft and smooth, with grey, blush pink and a hint of blue melting into each other like early morning air. Behind the head I added a warm glow of gold, almost like a crown of light that belongs only to the bird. The feathers are built up in thick texture, layer by layer, so the body and the long train really rise from the canvas. The eyes of the tail feathers are traced in gold, and they change as the light moves across the painting.
For me this piece is about grace, purity and the true meaning of presence. Real majesty is not in how much color we show, but in how we hold ourselves. The painting brings light and softness into a room, and the gold details give it warmth, whether it hangs in a calm living space or a more elegant interior.
